DC Brewery To Focus on Mid-Strength Beers

Washington DC-based brewer sets its aim on the NA-adjacent “mid” strength ABV category.

If you’ve ever thought about mixing an NA with a full strength beer before, you’re not alone. The founders of Dad Strength Brewing have been there, and are taking aim at the nascent space between the non-alcoholic category, and the traditionally higher gravity beers in the craft beer world. These brews pack full craft flavor, but with a lower alcohol by volume (ABV) of 2.5-2.9%. Their flagship beer, the Dad Strength IPA, is a 2.9% ABV collaboration with award-winning Atlas Brew Works, operators of three taprooms around the DC area. Said Co-Founder Ryan Kutscher; “Consumers who’ve grown accustomed to that west coast, piney, grapefruity flavor will be pleasantly surprised when they taste Dad Strength IPA, and the next morning they’ll be pleasantly surprised again.”

Founded by two dads who wanted a quality craft beer that fit their lifestyle, Dad Strength Brewing is currently found in over 40 retail locations in the area, with local DC delivery also available.
