Our N/ATION Review:
Brooklyn's Atmosphere Brewery was founded on the core beliefs of inclusivity, sustainability, and creating a beer to celebrate life's happy moments at any time of day, without the negative impacts of alcohol. Born in Brooklyn, the brewery's flagship 0.0 Pils is actually brewed in a 400 year-old brewery in Germany, a country where great beer has been made since the end of the first millennium. As such, the 0.0 Pils is subject to Germany's centuries-old Beer Purity Law (Reinheitsgebot; say that 10X fast, we dare you!), which states that beer can only contain water, barley malt and hops, and nothing else.
The 0.0 Pils pours like an authentic pilsner, with a small but dense foam head. Aroma is palpable, but not overpowering. The beer is made with the German-style hops Herkules and Perle, which are not only a little off the beaten path from more commonly used beer hops in the U.S., but conjure images of power and wisdom, not unlike how we all feel before cracking open a cold one. The crisp, refreshing taste lives up to the billing of the beer and backstory, delivering great taste in a completely alcohol-free brew.
