Our N/ATION Review:

The first thing that sticks out about this beer from Idaho's Atmos Brewing Company is the style. Normally when I hear the words "double IPA", my first inclination is to make sure my calendar is cleared of anything I may need to do before at least 10am the next morning. So the fact I'm about to drink one without that concern is already a win. Kora is a Tibetan word describing one's journey to a sacred place. Judging by the beautiful scenery that surrounds this brewery's Idaho mountain location, that sounds about right. The brewery itself is part of Sawtooth Brewery, also in Hailey, which has been making quality craft beers since 2011.

The double hops are pretty evident before you even take your first sip, with a familiar hoppy aroma as you crack open the can. This fullness only continues in the mouthfeel, as the beer lives up to its name. Like most New England style IPA's the beer has a hazy appearance. We didn't get as much juicy-ness in the taste, but we were more than OK with that given the crisp flavor profile of the beer as a whole. The brewery reports that Kora is made using Chinook, Citra & Mosaic hops, with water from the nearby Big Wood River, a 137-mile tributary that runs through the central part of the state. A 16 ounce can contains 69 calories, with 14g of carbs, not bad at all for the larger portion.

Founded in December, 2020, Atmos currently enjoys distribution throughout Idaho and Montana through Hayden Beverage, as well as Total Wine & More stores across the U.S.
