Our N/ATION Review:
One of the country’s most recognizable brands in craft beer (and still a member of the independent craft brewers association), Boston Beer Company’s Samuel Adams remains a pioneer in brewing great beer, named after one of the city’s most prominent Revolutionary leaders. Not surprisingly that pioneering spirit led them into the N/A category as well, launching Samuel Adams Just The Haze N/A IPA back in 2021. It remains one of the most accessible non-alcoholic brews on the market, which you can easily find nationwide in grocery store chains, specialty beer stores and more. Like its N/A counterparts at the big macro producers as well as Athletic Brewing Company, it’s also not uncommon for Just The Haze to be someone’s gateway into N/A beer.
This IPA near beer is brewed by removing the alcohol from the beer after it has originally been produced, which the brewery describes as being done “slowly.” Like many IPAs that do contain alcohol, Just the Haze N/A is made with Sabro, Citra, Mosaic and Cascade hops. Our first impressions were the beer poured true to its hazy style, with a foamy head that to us screamed of an IPA. Good citrusy aroma which portended some good juicy-ness in the mouthfeel, and we were not disappointed. Smooth, almost sweet finish, with very little bitterness. Similar to many N/A IPAs the hops are not going to smack you in the face, but this brew still offers plenty to satisfy.
As for where you can find it, Samuel Adams Just The Haze IPA N/A can be found far and wide nationally, wherever Sam Adams beer is sold.
