Our N/ATION Review:

In perhaps the most unique non-alcoholic beer launch of 2023, KittiePIG SaskaBerry Blonde is the result of a collaboration between two alt metal bands, the Canadian femme band, Kittie, and the South African-rooted, We are PIGS. The result? Brewed in partnership with Calgary’s One For The Road brewery, it’s an unabashed, fruit-explosion of an N/A beer that quickly announces its presence with a berry aroma that's impossible to miss. If your head wasn't already banging before opening one up, it will be by the time you get to the bottom of one (but in a good way, we think). As the creators describe it, this near beer is brewed with "blood, spit & tears". Enough said.

Our first impressions were the aforementioned berry aromas emanating from the Saskatoon berry, which like the band is of western Canadian origins. Color is pretty light, clear and bubbly, creating a smooth, crisp finish as one would expect of a blonde style ale. Easy drinking, whether you're in the front row at a metal show, or on a back porch somewhere during the summer.

As to where you can find it, The KittiePIG SaskaBerry Blonde is currently in limited release, but available via their online store. Hopefully soon you'll also be able to order one up at your favorite music venue, which sounds to us like a dream future pairing.
