Our N/ATION Review:

Ceria Brewing was founded by the husband and wife team of Keith and Jodi Villa in Arvada, Colorado, northwest of Denver. Keith has a long history in brewing beer, having started the Blue Moon brand in 1995 during his 30-plus years working for Miller Coors (for those who have ever enjoyed a Blue Moon with an orange peel, you have Keith to thank for it). Ceria also stands out in the NA scene due to being a completely zero-alcohol product, a rarity in the North American market.

Knowing the brewer’s history, it’s hard to drink a Ceria Grainwave Belgian-Style White and not think of its association with a brand icon that for many was the gateway to a new craft beer world. Similar to a Blue Moon, it’s brewed unfiltered with coriander and orange, a blood orange in this case. It’s made with Hallertau tradition hops, which are bred in Germany, and known for their aroma and medium bitterness. The flavors in the Grainwave are bright and refreshing on the finish, with the cloudy appearance and occasional sediment that’ll make you want to toss in that familiar orange peel.

As for where you can find Grainwave (or its sibling IPA, Indiewave), the brand has distribution across the U.S., including at outlets such as Total Wine & More.
