Our N/ATION Review:

With roots that date back to 1864, the legendary Dutch mega-brewer first got into the non-alcoholic beer game in 2017, the same year that U.S. craft non-alcoholic leader Athletic Brewing Company was founded. It would take two more years before the beer would reach U.S. shores in 2019. After the N/A movement really began to take off in the States, the company made history by becoming the first non-alcoholic beer brand to purchase coveted television advertising space during the 2023 Super Bowl, with an ad that featured A-list actor Paul Rudd reprising his famous role as Ant-Man.

Using a vacuum-distillation method for crafting their N/A, the alcohol is gently removed to protect the smooth, malty flavor of the original, a process the brewery reports took years to perfect. The end result is a slightly smoother version of the OG lager, but with only 69 calories and 16 grams of carbohydrates, as compared to 149 calories and 11 grams of carbs in the full-alcohol version. For those that may have enjoyed a traditional Heineken lager, you’ll likely find the zero-alcohol version quite pleasing. The look of the bottle is also very similar to the original, with the signature green tint that beer drinkers are already very familiar with.

As for where you can find it, Heineken 0.0 can likely be found wherever the brand is sold. As a pro tip, we have often seen it in restaurants and bars where it did not appear on the menu, so it may be worth asking a bartender or waiter if it’s available, even if it doesn’t make an appearance on an establishment’s drinks menu.
