Our N/ATION Review:

Our first Canadian-brewed review, Partake Brewing is one of the OGs of the non-alcoholic movement, having opened its Calgary, Alberta doors in 2017 partially on the strength of a Kickstarter campaign. They’ve been helping to innovate the category ever since with an extremely low-calorie product (< 30 calories or less per can), one of the hallmarks of every near beer in their lineup, along with some of the prettiest cans in the N/A world.

On the pour, the first thing we noticed was an orange-golden hue that skewed a bit more amber than your average Pale Ale, which given the fact N/As of this style can sometimes be a bit thin, we took as a promising sign. Definitely some good aromas, including a scent of pine that was noticeable, but not overpowering. The mouthfeel was more flavorful than we’d expected, with the piney-ness (is that a word?) again coming through more so than any citrusy vibes, which was fine by us. Finish was light and easy, as we’d expect for the style. And all for a comically-low 10 calories per 12 ounce can, enough to leave that LaCroix in your fridge feeling a little nervous.

So where can you find your own Partake brew? Luckily they have distribution that’s pretty far and wide, including at many Whole Foods locations. Or you can buy online through their website.
