Our N/ATION Review:

We’re long overdue in reviewing a selection from this empowering, woman-owned N/A brand, the brainchild of Laurel Harrop, who came up with the idea while pregnant with her second child. Shortly thereafter, Busty Lush set out to create a lineup of N/A beers to celebrate unapologetic women, and with four vibrant offerings now out in the market, they’re well on their way.

If you’ve read some of our previous N/A reviews you know we’re a sucker for great can art, which is the first thing that stands out about these busty brews. The non-alcoholic space needs more brands that tell you immediately what they stand for, who they’re designed in mind for, and, well, to do both of the above unapologetically. Check, check, and double-check. The can art for She’s Golden was created by San Diego designer Ashley Little of Little Print Design, and it’s spot-on. But when you make a strong brand statement right out of the gates the beer better back up the goods, and we’re pleased to say this one certainly did.

She’s Golden pours true to her name, with a color profile that matches the beer’s intended style. Right out of the can we got a nice menagerie of citrus fruit aroma that would make a Sauvignon Blanc jealous. If we’re being honest, N/As of a lighter variety can often leave you wanting for flavor, but this one delivered the right balance of taste with an expected amount of light bitterness consistent with a blonde. All in all we were quite impressed with this Citra-hopped near beer, as was our wife, who coincidentally happens to be a golden blonde herself (and would add that she detected notes of lemon, and a freshness reminiscent of biting into a slice of cucumber). So there you go.

Wondering where you can find She’s Golden or others from the Busty Lush lineup in the wild? We found ours in a local AF bottle shop in the singles fridge, but you can find them nationwide, including at select BevMo! locations. Not in your area just yet? They are also available to order online, which may be your safest bet.
