Our N/ATION Review:
With a wide breadth of non-alcoholic beer options for every taste profile, palate, and occasion, Athletic Brewing Company has spent the better part of their relatively short history making sure there is never a situation without a perfectly-matched N/A beer. And so it is with their Mexican-style copper, a unique offering for those looking for something light and crushable, but yet a bit more malty and food-friendly.
Our first impressions on the pour were an obvious copper glow, a welcome change of pace from the multitude of golden-hued or orange hazy beers in the market. An abundance of light malty aromas and flavors followed through the first sips, which were also refreshing. On the finish we detected a hint of lime, unless that was just our imagination reminding us this was a Mexican-style brew. All in all, this moderate-body non-alcoholic beer made with Munich malts should appeal to a wide swath of drinkers. And if you must, it would also probably make a killer Michelada.
As to where you can find Athletic Brewing Company’s Cerveza Atletica, with summer approaching it’s becoming a staple of many specialty beer stores that carry the brand. You can also purchase online from the Milford, Connecticut brewer's website.
