Our N/ATION Review:

This popular limited release is back for a third year in 2026! First introduced in 2024 as part of Athletic Brewing’s clever “Chief Fancy Officer” campaign featuring country music star, Walker Hayes, ‘Fancy Like’ remains a classic, traditional American pale ale. After undergoing a calorie reduction from 2024 (the original) to 2025, this brew remains largely untouched from the last limited vintage. Featuring flaked maize for a classic sweetness, Fancy Like continues to represent a simple, yet flavorful manifestation of a non-alcoholic near beer.

A smooth, clear, easy-drinking brew, Fancy Like would be worthy of being sipped on in any honky tonk, or perhaps at home while listening to your Spotify playlist. A little less bitterness than you might expect from a traditional Pale Ale in the alcohol world, but with a bit more punch than Athletic’s Lite offering, Fancy Like is a great hoppy medium (pun intended). With just a hint of sweetness thanks largely to the flaked maize, this is a great option with food while at a neighborhood BBQ, but can also be consumed solo as well.

As to where you can find Athletic Brewing Company’s Fancy Like Pale Ale, the easiest bet would be to buy it directly from the brewery’s own website, while available. But don’t wait or it will likely be gone by Summer. Based on distribution in the first two years we’d expect this one to be pretty widely carried at large retail and grocery outlets around the country, as well as in specialty beverage stores.
